The Judicial Selection Committee of the Arlington County Bar Association will be conducting interviews of candidates for the office of GENERAL DISTRICT COURT JUDGE, and the ACBA will thereafter hold a nominating meeting, and an electronic endorsement vote.
Candidates seeking to participate in the Association’s evaluation and endorsement process must submit to the Judicial Selection Committee for review::
- a completed questionnaire (download below),
- a current resume,
- a current criminal background check from the Virginia State Police, and a
- significant legal writing sample .
Candidate materials must be submitted in written form or in electronic format (which is strongly preferred) to Lamya Moosa (lamya@mwmlegalgroup.com)
ENDORSEMENT SCHEDULE:
- Friday, September 27, 2024: Questionnaires & materials are due to Committee Co-Chair Lamya Moosa by 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, October 7, 2024 and Tuesday, October 8, 2024: Interviews will be conducted.
- October 27, 2024: Reports will be sent to candidates by no later than this date.
- Monday, November 4, 2024: Nominating Meeting to be held at 4PM.
- Tuesday, November 12, 2024 and Wednesday, November 13, 2024: Electronic Voting will take place.*
*Please note that only CURRENT dues paying members of the ACBA may participate in the voting.
